“Human capital has been seen as a secondary factor for years. Today the new economy brings it back to the centre of attention”. These have been the very first words of the Vice-Minister of the Italian Ministry of Education, Universities and Research (MIUR) Lorenzo Fioramonti, after visiting on May 15 our laboratory, where our Researchers explained our work and projects. After visiting the CoserityLab and other laboratories within the Faculty of Engineering, the Vice-Minister met the Committee of the University Campus Bio-Medico of Rome. “We are going through a paradigm shift: universities and companies feel the urgent need to collaborate in an increasingly close and synergic way”.

Today, in our University, there is an ad hoc committee working on the dialogue between the academic and the corporate world. “The Committee of the University Campus Bio-Medico of Rome was created to encourage the inclusion of the students in the working world, with the help of a network model where knowledge is disseminated by students, because it’s truly the person who makes innovation”, explained Roberto Setola, Head of the Research Unit of Automation.

Eugenio Guglielmelli, Vice-Rector of Scientific Research, explained the importance of investments in this field, “for a country that wants to compete globally”. “The internationalization program, with visiting professors from all over the world and the university and voluntary cooperation program have a decisive impact on the human and professional training process of the students “, illustrated rather Simonetta Filippi, Vice Rector of the University Education.
