Prof. Roberto Setola, on the basis of his research experience in the field of Critical Infrastructures Protection, has been appointed in the working group established by the Italian National Fire Brigade on 27 February 2019 concerning the development of innovative procedures about “crowd management” in order to improve the safety.

Effective crowd management is about managing expected and unexpected crowd occurrences. Crowd control is a public security practice whether indoor or outdoor, where large crowds are managed to prevent the outbreak of crowd crushes, affray, fights involving drunk and disorderly people or riots.

The Laboratory will participate also with Marta Menci thanks to her competence in the modelling of crowd dynamics.
